長鎖多価不飽和脂肪酸(LC-PUFA)の、より普遍的で新しい生理機能を見出し、その分子機構の解明を目指しています。さらに、LC-PUFAは人や動物の栄養素として重要な働きをもつ物質であり、その生産の効率化を図るための実用的な研究も行っています。
We intend to discover new and general functions of long-chain unsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs) and to elucidate their molecular mechanisms in cell physiology. We also investigate practical methods for efficient production of LC-PUFAs, because LC-PUFAs have important roles as essential nutrients of human and animals.
