2015. 12. 11.2015年度研究室旅行 2015 Molecular Biology Course member trip to Noboribetsu-onsen

例年はスキー旅行ですが、今年の分子生物学コース研究室旅行では硫黄臭のただよう登別温泉に行きました。ちなみに、ここからは好酸性超好熱菌 Sulfolobus acidocaldarius が見つかっています。あいにく全員の参加とはなりませんでしたが、天候にも恵まれてあちこちの地面から吹き出す噴気口や間欠泉を楽しみました。およそ10分ごとに沸き出す間欠泉はまさに地球の呼吸を感じさせるものでした。お楽しみの夕食は三大ガニを含む食べ放題バイキングで北海道の美食を堪能しました。

The laboratory members enjoyed a trip to Noboribetsu-onsen. “Sulfolobus acidocaldarius”, an acidophilic hyperthermophile, has been isolated from here. We enjoyed walking to steam-jets and small geysers. The view of hot water and steam intermittently flush into the air reminded us breath of the earth. Free buffet-style dinner including the three major crabs were served at the hotel. All the members felt so happy with enjoying delicious foods in Hokkaido.
