The research projects below are related to each other, some are even difficult to separate. We are trying to find something in common from these different themes/species, which should be a general phenomenon and may provide a novel theory. This is challenging but the ultimate goal of our lab.
We make use of genetic analysis and statistical modeling, but we see ourselves as field-based ecologists. From detail observations in the wild we would like to develop novel and interesting theories driving the dynamics of animal populations. Nowadays, basic but fundamental field observations seem to have become less popular, but we believe this is still one of the most important approaches in promoting animal ecology.
