We isolated one <em>Arabidopsis thaliana<\/em> mutant showing reduction in the sensitivity to boron deficiency in primary root elongation. A missense mutation in\u00a0<em>AVP2;1\/VHP2;1\u00a0<\/em>was responsible for the longer root phenotype. Our data suggests that\u00a0AVP2;1\/VHP2;1 functions in acidification of the Golgi apparatus and contributes to synthesis of cell wal pectin.
