Our review paper on borate-crosslinked pectin by Funakawa and Miwa was accepted for publication in Frontiers in Plant Science. In this review, we focus on molecular mechanisms underlying synthesis of RG-II, a highly complex polysaccharide, and its borate crosslinking.
